Do not take this drug if you:

Are allergic to this drug or any of the other ingredients present in this medicine
Are taking any other HIV combination drugs?

Have hemoglobin M deficiency
Have glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency
Have heart problems
Have bone marrow suppression?

Dosage:
How much to take the drug?
The normal dosage of Flutamide is pegged at a total of 750mg per day. It is taken as 250mg tablets thrice per day at 8 hours gap. Your dosage may change for reasons already mentioned above. Always follow what your doctor has prescribed. The dosage is determined by the doctor after examining you properly.
How to take the drug?
Take Flutamide medication (Drogenil, Cytomid) strictly as prescribed by your doctor and no changes whatsoever must be made to it without his or her advice.
Flutamide is normally taken three times a day 8 hours apart. Follow your doctor?s advice carefully.?
Take each dose with a glass of water. Take flutamide exactly as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these directions, ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist to explain them to you.?

Overdose:
If you overdose on Flutamide, you may experience these symptoms: slow breathing, dizziness, decreased activity, watery eyes, raised body hair, suppressed appetite, vomiting, or sedation. Get?
immediate medical attention in case of an overdose or call the Doctor immediately.
Miss dose:
Do not miss a dose of Flutamide unnecessarily. But if you do miss a dose for some reasons, take it as soon as your remember it. However, forget about the missed dose if the time for the next dose is near. Do not take multiple doses close to each other to compensate for the missed dose as that will lead to extra medicine in your body at one time (overdose) which can be dangerous.
Side effects of the drug:
Contact your doctor immediately or seek urgent medical help if you experience these serious allergic reactions due to Flutamide: breathing difficulty, swelling on face, lips, tongue, or throat; or skin hives.Flutamide can lead to extensive liver damage leading to hospitalization or death. Immediately seek medical attention if you experience these symptoms while taking Flutamide: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, unusual fatigue, appetite loss, symptoms of flu, yellow skin or eyes, itching, clay colored stools, or dark urine.
Some other less severe side effects of Flutamide which have been observed over time are diarrhea, skin rash, increased sensitivity to sunlight, lower libido, impotence, decreased sperm count, rectal bleeding or inflammation, bloody urine, or amber or greenish urine.
These lists of side effects are non exhaustive and there may be other side effects. Seek medical help if you witness any other severe side effects.
Common drug interactions:
Other drugs may interact with Flutamide, so before taking it, share your list of any present medications with your doctor.
