What is TEST-E Injection?

TEST-E Injection is a prescription medication containing testosterone enanthate (250 mg/ml), a synthetic ester of the male hormone testosterone. It is an oil-based, long-acting injectable administered intramuscularly to treat low testosterone levels in adult males, a condition known as hypogonadism. Manufactured by various pharmaceutical companies, it mimics natural testosterone to support male sexual development, muscle growth, and secondary sex characteristics such as facial hair and deepened voice. Healthcare providers typically administer the injections into the gluteal muscle, or trained patients may self-inject. Regulatory authorities have not approved this medication for use in women or in children under 12 years of age.

Side Effects

• Common: Acne, oily skin, increased body or facial hair, male pattern baldness, injection site discomfort, headache, or fluid retention (edema). These are typically mild.

• Serious (Rare): Cardiovascular events (e.g., heart attack, stroke), blood clots (e.g., deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism), liver toxicity, prostate enlargement, or increased prostate cancer risk. Seek immediate medical attention for symptoms like chest pain, shortness of breath, or severe swelling.

• Other: Gynecomastia, mood changes, sleep apnea, reduced sperm count (potentially impacting fertility), or elevated blood pressure. Regular monitoring of testosterone levels, PSA, and hematocrit is required.
